Introduction
This Account Deletion Policy explains how Pocket Retainer users can delete an account, what account-associated data is deleted, what limited information may be retained, and how account deletion differs from subscription cancellation. Pocket Retainer is designed to provide a clear in-app deletion path and an external deletion resource.
1. HOW TO DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT
In the App
You may initiate account deletion from within the Pocket Retainer app through the account/settings controls made available for that purpose.
External Deletion Resource
If you cannot access the app, you may use our external account-deletion resource at https://pocketretainer.com/delete-account/ or contact Support@PocketRetainer.com.
Verification
We may use reasonable verification measures to protect against unauthorized or fraudulent deletion requests. Verification will be limited to what is reasonably necessary and will not be used to create unnecessary obstacles to deletion.
2. PROCESSING TIME
Processing time:
Valid deletion requests are generally processed within 30 days of receipt or within a shorter period if applicable law requires. A request may take longer only where legally permitted, such as when additional verification is reasonably necessary or an applicable law provides an extension. We may send confirmation when deletion is completed.
3. WHAT WE DELETE
Subject to lawful retention exceptions, account deletion permanently deletes or de-identifies personal information associated with the Pocket Retainer account from Company-controlled active systems, including as applicable:
Data removed on deletion:
Account profile and account credentials or authentication records maintained by Pocket Retainer
Name, email address, account identifiers, and account-linked preferences
Pocket Retainer server-side account metadata that is associated with the deleted account and is not required to be retained
Other account-associated personal information that we control and are not legally required or permitted to retain
Temporary account deactivation, disabling, or freezing is not treated as completed account deletion.
4. LIMITED INFORMATION WE MAY RETAIN
We may retain only information reasonably necessary for legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, financial, or dispute-resolution reasons. Our current general retention schedule is:
Subscription, transaction, tax, and accounting records

Backup-system copies of deleted account data

Reason: Rolling backup cycles before being overwritten or purged, unless a legal hold applies
Records subject to subpoena, litigation hold, regulatory requirement, or other legal obligation
Retained? Yes
Retention Period: Until the obligation or proceeding is resolved and any required retention period ends
Reason: Legal compliance
Retained information will not be used to recreate the deleted account except where necessary to comply with law, investigate fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, or protect legal rights.
5. DATA STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
Pocket Retainer is designed so that recordings, photos, videos, notes, documents, and evidence generally remain on your device. Deleting your Pocket Retainer account does not automatically delete that on-device content. Use the app's available delete controls, device storage controls, or uninstall the app if you want to remove local content, subject to your device and operating-system behavior.
6. THIRD-PARTY BACKUPS AND SERVICES
If you exported, synchronized, or backed up content to iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or another third-party service, deleting your Pocket Retainer account does not automatically delete content held by that independent provider. You must use that provider's controls to delete or manage the content.
7. APPLE, GOOGLE, AND REVENUECAT RECORDS
Apple, Google, RevenueCat, authentication providers, or other independent service providers may maintain their own records under their terms, privacy policies, legal obligations, and marketplace requirements. We will take reasonable steps concerning processor-held data that we control as required by law, but we cannot delete records that an independent controller is legally entitled or required to maintain.
8. SUBSCRIPTION CANCELLATION IS SEPARATE

Deleting your Pocket Retainer account does not automatically cancel an active Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. To stop future billing, cancel the subscription through the marketplace that manages it:
9. EFFECT AND FINALITY OF DELETION
After deletion is completed, the account generally cannot be restored. Before deleting, preserve any information you want to keep. We are not responsible for a user's voluntary deletion of content or an account, except to the extent liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. PRIVACY RIGHTS AND MANDATORY LAW
Account deletion may also satisfy a privacy-law erasure request, but privacy laws can provide different rights, exceptions, deadlines, or verification standards. Nothing in this Policy limits a non-waivable right under applicable privacy or consumer law. EEA and UK users should also review the International Privacy Notice, and California residents should review the California Privacy Rights Notice.
11. SECURITY AND FRAUD PREVENTION
We may delay or deny a deletion request only to the extent permitted by law, such as when we cannot reasonably verify the requester, the account is subject to an active legal hold, or deletion would interfere with a lawful fraud, security, or abuse investigation.
12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, data practices, or the Services. Material changes will be communicated where required by law.
